BBC Footage?
by Breon Snowdon on Jun 22, 2009 at 1:41:33 pm

Hello all, I do hope you can help me....

I am creating a short film for the Virgin Media competition over here in the UK and the short has a 10-15 second snip of EastEnders (a BBC soap production) - I have tired contacting them (the BBC) to see what the regulations is on using the footage...but nothing yet...was wondering if you had any ideas - or contacts that could answers the question?

Am I alright to use the footage and if I need to do something what do I need to do?

Thank you all in advance...I do hope someone can help!

Cheers Breon.

You need clearance from the BBC. They will have to give you (sell you) rights to use, and if artists are involved you will also probably have to make (often small) payments to those artists / their agents. BBC worldwide should be able to help you. http://www.bbcworldwide.com/
