Hi,
I am doing the closing credits for a documentary, now I have the music score by.... and that's ok but then I have 2 songs one is used for the opening and the other for the closing credits....I am lost as far as how to word the songs...should they have a header like "music score"? if so what would it be? I know it may sound silly but I am lost.
can any of you guys please help?
thanks

If you want to follow the usual format usually seen in feature films, the composer of the whole score would normally be listed as "Score by...", although occasionaly might be listed as "Composer" or "Composition by..." or "Music composition by..."
This would typically be a very prominent credit, usually about midway in the opening titles, or very early in the closing titles.
If those additional songs that you are talking about are two already existing pieces of music (not custom created for your film), they would not be treated the same as the full score. Typically they would only be listed in the end credits, and usually near the every end of the credit roll. They would just be listed under "Songs" and would usually contain the name of the song, name of the song writer, name of the publshing company, year of the copyright, "Performed by...", and any specialty credit that is needed such as "Used with permission of Voodoo Records" or whatever.

Now I understand. That does make the credits a bit more difficult. Most important is, there's not really a right and wrong in this case.
If it were my project I think I might leave the main credit as you've already got it, and I'd simpley add and end credit that states something like Additional Music by __________, or Title Music Tracks by __________.
The most important thing is, if you really liked the work of the composer who did the score, you want to make sure he gets a main credit.
That's my 2-cents, let's see what the others say...

Thank you David! Thank you Todd!
It makes a lot of sense, I have an EP that wants the songs to be listed early in the closing credits, after the music composition simply because the songwriter agree to the use of his songs without licensing. Is that appropriate?
I am sorry for all this questions but it is my 1st feature, as it is for the Director and Producer so you can imagine. Hopefully I won't have many more.
