Hi do you know where i could get free stock footage?

Hi, I'm shooting a documentary and I need some stock footage, for free if i can. I know that there should be some websites out there that offer that, but aren't there some footage that would be considered public domain, and if so do you know how i would get a hold of them? Thanks!

Not sure about the kind of footage you are looking for, but www.archive.org
is a great place.
