Re: Kona-LhE 4 channel sdi audio output oddity by gary adcock on Oct 7, 2009 at 4:45:16 pm
[Chris Borjis]"I found that an assemble edit actually did output 4 channels (I was doing stereo mix and dolby-e) but an insert edit did not.
driver bug? "
Could it be that assemble edits allow for mismatched settings where edit-to-tape setting adhere to stricter functionality?
It is my understanding that the kona drivers technically do not support any type of Dolby audio.

Assemble is basically "insert edit, all available channels, including TC and CTL". Edit to tape is "insert edit, ONLY on selected channels". In FCP what you have available is determined by the Device Control Preset (in A/V settings). Drop down menu there will give you 2, 4, 8, etc. channels audio. Change this, apply, and you should see them available in your ETT window...
