I am using Sony DXC-D50WSH cameras which are 4:3/16:9 switchable. I know they are still standard def, but assumed a native 16:9 would lend itself better to a widescreen final product.
Using the SDI output of a Panasonic AG-MX70 switcher, and maintaining a 16:9 signal from camera to Kona LHe Card SDI input, what is the best workflow to ensure 16:9 DVD? What format must I capture in?
As a side note, I will also be broadcasting the output of the switcher in digital over coax, which adds yet another reason for the 16:9 setting of the camera.

You can capture in many different formats and still maintain widescreen.
Just go to easy setup and select an animorphic version of one of them. 8 bit uncompressed, 10 bit uncompressed, dv50, prores, all have widescreen ability.
Just capture, edit, output widescreen - u'll be fine.

What is the highest quality format for SD? Im guessing DVCpro 50? Also, any ideas on getting the same program (component output is available) recorded to BETA sp?
