Blu Ray ingest to Kona 3
by Tim Maloney on May 15, 2008 at 2:19:46 am

Hi All,

How can I ingest material from a Sony BDP-S300 Blu Ray Player.

It has component out Y- Green PB / CB - Blue PR / CR - Red

Can I plug it into the Kona three??

Can I crack the disk into something FCP can see??

Using which Blue Ray device.

Best

Tim Maloney

No, the Kona only has Digital inputs. You would need a converter like the HD10AVA units we have which takes Component video and analog audio and creates an SDI stream.

Or an IoHD which can take the HDMI output of the BluRay player.

Not that I know of. We have an internal BluRay burner and have not attempted to rip anything off a disc, but then we don't have to. Everything that we have created on a BluRay we own. Everything else is a commercial disc so we would have no reason to rip a commercial disc.
