Hi, I have a doubt about how going on with my project.
I edited my short film in hd 720p with the jvc camera and now I have to make the color correction and I don't know which could be the best workflow possible:
-Recapture the project via kona lhe in Prores with component (I do no have sdi connection on camera or vtr)
-Recapture the project through firewire directly in Prores (like fcp now is able to do)
-stay in hdv and make my color correction without recapture anything.
The short film is aimed to be distributed on dvd.
thnaks for the help

What frame rate? If its anything other than 60, I think you have to capture via firewire to ProRes with that camera if you want to retain other frame rates.

I 'd want to mantain the same frame rate as my source: 25fps.
For quality speaking is it better to capture via firewire to prores or via aja kona to Prores through component?

I honestly don't know for sure as i have never compared those two.
Capturing DVCPro HD via HDSDi into ProRes instead of DVCPro HD always yields better quality results for me, so perhaps capturing via component will be better for you. You won't be able to maintain 25 though, you will have to bump up to 50fps.

[tommaso cico]"Why have I to bump up?"
Becuase 720p video runs of 50p not 25p and there's no way to remove the extra frames from a component signal, and I don't think that JVC supports that workflow anyway.

In my list I got a capture preset like this :"Aja Kona 720p25 ProRes". could it work?
Assuming to capturing at 50p how can I re-change the setting to 25p in FCP?
thanks
