KONA LHe Workflow

My photog has a new HDCAM HD and I have the KONA LHe. He would like to shoot 1080 24p and I need to edit 525 60i. AJA told me that I need the KONA 3 card - crossconversion. Is there a workflow work around.

I was thinking that I could HDSI out the deck with pull-down, but I am not utilizing the FAM mode of the deck.

Any Suggestions

1080>525 is actually a down conversion and the LHe should be able to handle it. You should edit in 1080p, but monitor in 525. Are you going to be bringing in the tapeless files?

You are correct, but I also need to go from 24p>60i.

That's still a down conversion and should be do able on an LHe.

It is going FROM 525 to 1080p that the LHe cannot do...and that the Kona 3 is suited for. Also going from 720p to 1080p and vise versa that ALSO requires the Kona 3.

But everything you require, as Jeremy says, the Kona LHe can handle

We would like to utilize the tapeless files.
