HDCAM Closed Captioning

HDCAM Closed Captioning

Using:

- Kona 3
- EEG EN530 Closed Captioning encoder
- HDW-1800 Deck

Closed captioning shows up fine in HD in the encoder software (scrolls properly based on timecode)... but it doesn't show up on the HDCAM tape (1080i60). HD-SDI from the encoder to the deck.

Does anyone know if something special needs to be done in the deck to accept HD CC? Manual doesn't mention CC.

SOLUTION:

In the HDW-1800 deck:

Enter the maintenance menu:

1/ Alt - f9

2/ MAINT MODE/OTHERS/VANC RX PARAMETER

(For 708 Compliant CC)

Line 1 Line 2 DID SDID
009 572 61 01

3/ Don't blank any lines
