Kona 3 problem with dropped frames on 10 bit 720P

I have been experiencing problems with my kona 3 card when I try to layoff 10bit 720P 59.94 footage I always get dropped frames. I have more than enough speed with my drives data rate is over 400 megs a second but it when play for about 5 seconds and then it reports dropped frames.
I am running on a following:
G5 Intel 3.0
16 gigs ram
kona 3
drives connected fibre atto 42es card
10 tera bit fibre raid runs at about 400 megs second.
If I don't output the footage through the Kona 3 card it will play back fine with no dropped frames what could be causing this problem with the Kona 3 card?
