 | quicktime component for cinewave targa yuv codec
by mark brindle on Sep 18, 2008 at 9:03:47 pm |
Hi,
does anyone have just the quicktime component code they can post or send me ? I have mistakenly captured a 30min hdcam tape using a cinewave codec on a machine at a facility where im looking to upgrade their machine and I/O system - but now i cant open the captured video on my normal fcp system. Doh! Its a 5hour round trip to go back and capture the tape again (probably using dvcproHD codec) - so ive been searching for something i can try to install on an old tiger machine (G5 2.7 dual) in the hope i can convert using quicktime...
in theory i should be able to install just the quicktime component and qt would recognise the targa cinewave yuv codec and let me convert it to dvcprohd.. in theory. But all the pinnacle website links no longer exist for support, and even the one download page i did find for installers (from this forum) has all links just going to a newsletter signup too. i just tried live chat with pinnacle support and after a bit of tooing and froing they said 'we dont support cinewave' .. which i guess is fairly obvious to most cinewave users..
thanks
mark

did you ever discover a quicktime component or other workaround for this issue?
thanx, Barry

Sorry no. We replaced the cinewave machine with matrix mxo2 and a new 8core with fcp6and recaptured. I did get some further support from the people who took over cinewave but they just said it was not supported.

Hi there,
I have the same problem, except the quicktimes I have were made 7 or 8 years ago and the company I did them at has since gone bust. Oh how I wish I'd copied that component. Anyone still got it lurking around?
thanks,
Andrew
