Just bought a DeckLink HD Pro.

I'have to say: It's hard to loose a basically good hardware, but the cinewave hd with BB is still not fully working in FCP 5 and my clients are demanding FCP5 projects.

The worst thing on the decklink is the poor connectivity and the bad setup programming.
(preference pane is still a joke) (Try to use TriLevel Sync... for 24p and BiLevel for 50i, not possible)

CineWave provided me over 3 years SD/HD Monitoring at the same time, analog/AES-EBU sound as well. So the decklink HD PRO forced me to put another downconverter (Miranda) in the suite. The Multibridge can not downconvert! As the DeckLink announced since a year ("Multibridge can be updated for future processing features such as down conversion which is coming soon. ")

OK one thing is better, now I have RealTime ColorCorrector 3Way in HD uncompressed. wow...

Maybe I try the KONA2 as well....

I went with the Kona LH. Seems to mirror Cinewave the best as far as a SD/HD card goes. If you are doing mainly HD jobs, take a look at the Kona2...seems to be at the top of the game right now.

I agree, I will miss some of the Cinewave features...but hopefully soon, we will gain them back natively in FCP.
