Trouble exporting .m2v
by serIIalpine on Nov 4, 2007 at 8:36:14 pm

When I export a project in FCP5 to mpeg2 for a dvd it renders all the way to the very end just fine ( I sit and watch the monitor the whole time now) and just when it should be ending I get the warning "general error: unknown file type."

I also have a problem exporting a self contained movie at full resolution. It freezes 10 or 15 minutes in.

I have plenty of HD space and I have 2 gigs of ram in my dual 1ghz silver door g4. I am running FCP5 and the project video I am using was captured using an Aurora Igniter using their Mjpeg-A codec. OS 10.4.1 Qt7

Thanks

Eric

Export the project as a quick time file, make sure it stay in the same format. Then you close FCP then open Compressor and import your new QuickTime file and then do your setup this is what I do for all G4 unit and it work, I have that same problem from FCP studio 1. and this is the way they get you upgrade software needs upgrade computer.Good luck and one love.
