Using a JVC COmponent Switch with no luck.
by Alex Salerno on Jan 26, 2007 at 3:21:42 pm

Below is a tech support email sent to JVC. Perhaps someone (Aurora tech??) can help me.

__________________________________________________________________________________________

I have various S-Video and Compnent devices connected to my JX-333 AV Selector. My monitor in a Sony WEGA connected via Component. So, some of my S-Video devices are being converted to Compoenent output. All is well with my S-Video streaming media center and my S-Video Digital Cable Box. BUT, my S-Video computer video capture/playback card is causing me problems. The card is a high end Aurora Video Systems Pipe (uncompressed SD) running on a Mac. When I first power on all devices and switch to Input #1 (the Pipe card), playback is fine. After switching to another input and then back to #1, the palyback is black and white, someimes with occasional flashes of color. Turning the 333 on and off, resolves the problem temporarily.

I have verified that the S-Video cable is good. I have also plugged in the Pipe's output directly into a S-Video input on my monitor and playback is fine (in color).

Thank you for your help.

Alex

reading your description twice it definitely sounds like your switch is the problem.
if JVC can't give you a solution, why don't you connect the Pipe permanently to the S-Video input of the monitor and select it this way? but just thinking aloud not knowing your setup...
