can't digitize NTSC-DV with Igniter?

I have happily used my Igniter for 5 years, however I almost always use the proprietary "Aurora MJPEG-A" codec. However, a client has sent me a DVD that he wants to digitize in NTSC-DV so he can see it on his mac without aurora card. I try to do this but it doesn't seem to work. In Audio Video settings I set capture to NTSC-DV. Then when I try to capture, it just says "allocating disk space" forever and I can't get out of capture. What am I doing wrong?

With the original Igniter, you have to have the Uncompressed option to digitize in other codecs besides Aurora MJPEG-A. The later Igniter cards came standard with this option and were marketed as IgniterX.
He should still be able to see the files without the Aurora card, as the Aurora MJPEG-A codec is compatible with the standard M-JPEGA built into Quicktime.

Yes, John, but I can't see HIS quicktimes with my system.
One thing puzzles me though. I downloaded this shareware called Clip Creator. Clip CReator will take my Aurora MJpeg-a clips and output subclips. All of the clips remain compatible with Aurora Igniter. How does clip creator know to make the clips in the Aurora Codec? Perhaps it is just taking the actual codec data and breaking it into pieces without reencoding it.
Maybe the uncompressed option is worth getting , if I could screen other codecs with my igniter, it might be well worth it.
