I'm patiently waiting...if they can build a product that is as solid as their Pipe Studio with an HD chipset, we are all gonna love it. I too have to admit it is a real bummer to see an optimistic "coming soon" on the site and nothing has come all that soon.
Aurora...can you throw us a bone before we all throw our money at the guys at Kona?

Hey Gang,
Aurora seems to have focused it's attention toward the Fuse X for the time being. It would be very hard for them to enter the HD card game right now for the following reasons.
1. Will it be PCIe and for how long?
2. Can they get it to function in HD? ( they had prototypes working perfectly in G4's but could not port the code over to G5's)
3. Can you compete with AJA's reputation and Decklink's pricepoint?
I have no doubt that Aurora would build an awesome card. No doubt at all. It would be hard to get into the market at this stage unless they blew the doors off people with a price, performance, feature combo that does not exist.

Two HD card manufacturers for the Macs seems like there is room for a third player. It also seems that Blackmagic has had enough issues to be taken over by Aurora. I don't care really if someone buys Aurora and builds an HD card as good as the Pipe...I just don't really want to buy an AJA Kona.
Still rootin' for the underdog...(and the best product out there)
