Batch Change markers

I need to be able to quickly change markers from standard markers to DVD Chapter markers. Is there a quick way of doing this? I'm tlaking lots of markers, having to do each one by hand is quite painful.
Any Ideas?

my best idea is to export out XML
open the XML in a text editor like text wrangler or bbedit
then work out the code for a chapter marker compared to a normal marker
then use some sort of find replace possibly with Grep (check Wikipedia if not a word that makes sense)
then reimport XML to project and export out to compressor
