Clip Settings Disabled While Preparing for Capture

I would like to utilize the clip settings in FCP to tweak the audio and slightly adjust the color prior to capturing, but they are disabled and I cannot make the adjustments. I have never had this problem before, but than again I never had to use this feature while capturing via firewire. Any Ideas?

They are disabled for all digital inputs as it's not actually "video" that's being transferred so much as it's digital, data information. Those controls are only active for analog video inputs.
