by Twann Hudson on Jul 27, 2008 at 3:25:53 am

I have FCP5 and CS3 side by side on the mac. i was wondering for anyone who knows -- if i up grade to FCP6 and create a prores video , can i import it into PPRO3? will PPro be able to play and edit that prores file ?

the real fun begins when the program loads
running FCS & CS3 MS side by side on the Mac

Nope!!! Pro Res is proprietary, at least for now.

I don't have PPro3 so I'm just throwing this out. ProRes should be able to be played in anything that can handle QT once the codec is installed. Installing FCP6 installs the codec.

I think that Michael can be right. Proress is a FC codec, but if you can read it with AE (having installed FC, off course), should work in PP.
