Log & Capture "name" field is grayed out?

Logging & capturing today and suddenly the "Name" field in the L&C window is grayed out and I cannot enter a name to log a Clip.
I've tried restarting FCP but to no avail.
I haven't tried trashing preferences yet since FCP Rescue isn't working with Leopard. I can try it by the brute force method I guess.
Suggestions?

Whatever you put in the DESCRIPTION Field goes into the NAME field. that is always greyed out, unless you hit LOG, then a new window with that option not greyed becomes available.

Yea, It's been a long day here. I'm used to hitting the Log button on my shuttle Pro and entering the name that way. I didn't have the Shuttle Pro hooked up on this machine and just went stupid for a moment when it came time to Log the clips.
Time to quit for the day and take a break.
