I am working with DVCPROHD footage from an HVX200 shot at 1080p24. After log and transfer the footage appears in Final Cut as 1080p30, and plays back with three progressive frames followed by 2 interlaced frames- pppii. In a viewer in Final Cut, wave patters from the interlaced frames are quite jarring when the camera is moving or there is motion in the shot. If I drop the footage in its native sequence and change the field dominance to "Upper" the interlaced frames become repeating frames, which looks better, but still isn't ideal.
Editing for this project begins on Monday. I am trying to figure out the best workflow for handling the footage. I'm not sure if all the raw footage need to be run through Cinema Tools' reverse telecine or if something can be done further down the line. The final format will be a flash movie for the web, as well as a DVD version. (There is always the possibility of broadcast, further down the line, but I am not worried about that now.)
My fear is that we edit the project as is, with interlaced or repeating frames and later are unable to correct it.

This is a standard 2:3 pulldown pattern. You should be working in a 1080 60i timeline. I think this is explained in your FCP manual. Try looking up "telecine", "2:3 pulldown" or "24P".
You should also crack open the manual for your HVX-200 & read up on the various options it has for 24p. There are at least 6 different 24P settings on this camera.

Don't look at the viewer in FCP. Look only at your external video monitor. Don't have one? This is one of the reasons why you should.

As you can see, Log and Transfer is saying that the footage is 1080p24. Log and Transfer indicates that it is transcoding from "DVCPRO HD 1080i60" to "DVCPRO HD 1080i60" with Vid rate of 29.97 and a 2:3 pulldown. You will also see that in the Browser of Final Cut the footage is listed as being DVCPROHD 1080p30 not 1080 60i
Also, does an external monitor remove pulldown? I don't understand. I have Sony LMD-2450WHD WUXGA 24". The video looks fine when it plays through the monitor, but it has two still frames. I need this to be correct for Final output. The way it looks on my monitor isn't as important.
I appreciate any further thoughts you have to offer.

I am having the same problem - footage looks interlaced - but the weird thing is it didn't come in like this before. I am re-capturing a couple of clips.
It was shot on the HVX200 at 1080i 60.
When I originally brought this in it came in at 29.97, but it still looked fine when you played it. Then I did a reverse telecine in Compressor to get it to 23.98. But now this time it looks interlaced when I bring it in and after the telecine.
We recently installed an AJA card. I don't remember whether I captured anything properly since the install, but I'm guessing it's related to that.
I must have changed a setting of course but I can't figure out what. I've tried all the A/V Settings and Easy Setups that seem related, plus checked and unchecked Remove Advanced Pulldown.

Sorry to re-post, but I can't find the solution in any searches here or my manuals or books.

Removing pulldown makes no difference, unless there is something more than checking/unchecking the box required to make the change.

Well my rev telecine seems to work properly on other footage, and I don't think my setting in Compressor has changed. It seems more like something in my fcp project has.

I have seen people talk about this before. I don't think there's a way to change it after capture, but what you can do is change it compressor.
In COmpressor, click on the movie once you get it loaded up. (That is, click on the thumbnail for the movie). That should bring up the movies properties. Change the field dominance from 'None' to 'Upper'. Then run your rev telecine.
