A client has asked me why he was told that wearing blue or white is a no no on camera? I previously thought it was just Black that was no good, because it hid shadows and made the person look more 2D. Im editing some stuff now in FCP where a person has worn both blue and white clothes, and cant really see any issues. Can anyone enlighten me?

[Shane Ross]"I don't recall that blue was an issue"
The issue with blue is a possible chroma key problem. When keying out blue you can easily poke holes in parts of a blue shirt with shadows that approximate the color of the blue screen.
BTW, green screen was created to solve a similar issue, because Walter Cronkite's blue eyes created havoc on the CBS Evening News when they first began the now commonly used practice of keying images behind the news anchor.

The colour Red has long been the bad boy colour in video. A lot of this stems back from the early tube cameras and should diminish with the use of lcd screens and HD digital cameras.
