External Applications

Hello,
I have always had limited boot drive space on my laptop. My question is can I store a large application like Adobe Creative Suite on a external firewire drive and lauch off of it? Also how about Fusion and a window os on an external firewire drive?

Applications need to be located on the System Drive...so unless you have an OS installed on that external drive, and boot from it, it won't work. But installing all the EXTRAS onto the external is a wise idea. Like loops and graphics.
