video noise
by Katherine Peterlin on Jul 2, 2008 at 3:49:16 pm

I am trying to caputre video from a DV and while it looks fine on the TV screen I am previewing it on, it has significant noise on the computer log & capture preview (and in the captured video). I am using DV NTSC 48kHz as the standard setting (and have tried several others) but nothing is working. ANy suggestions on something else I can try?

[Katherine Peterlin] "on the computer log & capture preview (and in the captured video). "

The log and capture preview isn't a reflection of what the video file really is. It's a low res version of it. If it looks good on a TV, then you're probably in good shape.

You can also open up the captured files in QuickTime and see what they look like. Just make sure that High Quality is turned on for the clip under visual settings. (Apple+J)
