I am trying to figure out what is currently the best macbook pro for running FCP studio 2
I imagine:
if trying to work with HD the graphics card should be the one which can draw the biggest pixel size and as much VRAM as possible
the speed of the internal drive is important for running apps well
the ram should be maxed out at 4 gb
and esata is the way to go for storage
Would be good to know what people's experience of using macbookpros for HD have been with the AJA IOHD
also if there any rumours of new mabookpros coming out in next 6 months would be good to hear about them

I would agree with everything but this. Barefeats.com has done a lot of comparisons about drive speed for performance, and a 7,200RPM drive isn't necessarily the best for system drive (although it might be for you), it uses more power too. Slower drives are available with more storage, and may run apps faster than a packed, 7,200RPM drive. Check at barefeats.com to help decide.
