when i import a graphic from photoshop into final cut pro
with hd settings

the image is coming in squished and square
and i can't figure out what i'm doing in this situation !!!

i create a file of 960 x 720
or 1080 etc
i bring it in and bam it gets square or squished
any experience in this ?

Artie,

Anamorphic video when unsqueezed is 1280x720 for 720p or 1920x1080 for 1080i or 1080p. These should be your final frame sizes for graphics created in Photoshop.

What David says, or larger if you want to animate, but in the same proportions.

Also remember the square vs non-square (rectangular) pixels issue from Photoshop to video.

True in SD, not true in HD. 1080-line and 720-line HD both use square pixels.

thanks guys

we worked it out !!!

i forgot to tell you we are also working in cs3...
and there's an extra setting there that we had to click

but everything else you suggested was spot on !!!
