DVD Studio Pro

Hola Creative Cows:

I read an article regarding outputting video projects through iDVD.

It says it can not / will not support MPEG2 files.

Because the original tapes were lost for a large part of my footage, luckily the guy transferred the footage to a DVD.

Then I had to convert the file through MPEG2.

My question and concern - Will I have a problem with either iDVD or DVD studio Pro? Which one should I use? I am scrambling, getting all sorts of different feedback and want to make sure I do the right thing. Thanks.

Use MPEG Streamclip to create DV files from the DVD you have... that file will edit, and it will then import to iDVD. If you want better, export that DV version to Compressor, and compress it back to MPEG to burn a DVD with DVD Studio Pro.

So I will fine making a DVD with iDVD? even though I converted some of the footage through an MPEG streamclip?

I have iDVD.... I do not have Compressor or DVD Studio Pro... nor do I want to go through these steps...

will iDVD do the job? Thanks.

Your'e going to have to reconvert them to something iDVD can read, like DV. Then drop those into iDVD.

To clarify:

Print to tape > Then output my DV tape to > idvd?

Sorry this is my first time creating a DVD and just want to make sure I get it right.

One thing I know for sure is to always Print to Tape. Thanks.
