Best SDI to HDMI Converter for FCP
by Patrick Marrero on Jun 12, 2008 at 10:01:09 pm

Hey All

I'm running Final Cut Studio 2 on a G5 Mac tower with an AJA Kona LHE SDI Card. I want to hook up a 52inch Samsung plasma as a monitor for HD Editing. In your opinion what is the best SDI to HDMI converter to use for this purpose.

Thanks

Patrick

Look no further than AJA. you can also run analog HD component to that monitor as well.

I worked the Sony booth at NAB. They used AJA converter boxes to run their giant Bravia sets. 'Nuff said.

[Patrick Marrero] " In your opinion what is the best SDI to HDMI converter to use for this purpose. "

There is no difference in picture quality between any of these products. It's a clean digital mapping process. I got the newest Blackmagic one because it was the cheapest.

For a capture card, I would go with AJA because the Kona 3 does vastly better conversions than any Blackmagic product.
