Capture settings weirdness
by Erik Naso on Jun 10, 2008 at 6:55:52 am

Ok. I'm feeling a little needy today. But here goes.
I have a Panasonic deck inputed via SDI into Kona LH. Using serial to USB for deck control. I am running a G5 with FCP 6.0.2 QT 7.3.1

My settings are:

Sequence DV NTSC 48khz
for capture Kona LH 525 29.97 DV
Device USB serial. I made this setting
Playback Kona 525i29.97 8 bit
these are for a current project. I have a DVCpro50 easy setup with the same issue.

I was setting up my project and making a new easy setup for this deck with SDI out. Every time I exit log and capture then reopen to capture again I get no video signal in the window. I have to go to the settings tab in log and capture and change the settings to anything other than what I had setup like a HD setting then go back to my original setting then the video will come back. I might have to do this a few times for it to finally take. Still if I exit capture then return its gone again. Any ideas how can I fix this?
I am getting deck control and timecode just no picture or sound. It worked well with the Firewire output but I want this to work with SDI for other projects.

Thanks.

Erik

I fixed the issue. here is the fix for future reference.

Delete the Kona Preferences:
a) Go to: /library/preferences and delete
com.aja.KonaPreferences.plist.
b) Go to: /users/username/library/preferences/ and delete
com.aja.KonaControlPanel.plist.
c) Reboot and then reset the Kona Control Panel parameters.
