Downconverting Uncompressed HD for an SD edit
by John Lange on Jun 10, 2008 at 6:24:51 am

Hello there, I'm about to start editing a music video cannot edit the footage in its current state, which is:

Uncompressed 8-bit HD, square pixels, 1920x1080, 23.98fps.

Needless to say my G5 can't play the footage on FCP without hiccuping every second. Does anyone know a good codec and or workflow so I can edit in SD with the intention of doing an HD online when finished?

Thank you.

Use the Media Manager to RECOMPRESS the footage as DV.
