Shot short film on 24p, export now looks interlaced
by Philippe Gosselin on Jun 2, 2008 at 7:36:12 am

Hi all,
I just finished editing a short film that I shot on a Canon XL2 at 24p (not 24p Advanced). I imported the video into FCP and edited it on a standard 29.97 fps timeline, treating it like standard NTSC video. Now when I export the film, the film is interlaced in 3:2:3:2 (3 normal frames followed by 2 interlaced ones).

How can I get rid of this interlacing? What export settings should I use? The film will be transferred to a Digibeta tape for exhibition.

Thanks!
Philippe
