Rendering green line at bottom of frame
by Jimmy Spangler on May 26, 2008 at 7:02:52 am

Hello,

I am Onlining a spot that is 4x3 Anamorphic 10 Bit Uncompressed and when I render there is a green bar being put at the bottom of the frame. It seems to happen on some of the transitions and only lasts a frame.

I have messed with some render control settings but those have not had any effect. Also one of my white color solids was rendering as bright blue for no apparent reason. I was able to fix it by making a new color solid.

Anyone else had problem with render artifacts/glitches such as these?

I am on a Quadcore 3.0 Intel, 4 gigs RAM, Kona 3.

I've had problems with mysterious green lines, as well as problems with a full green screen. There's a lot of scattered topics on this. I think the first thing to do is trash your FCP preferences. As well as your QT preferences and AJA preferences. And reinstall all the AJA software.

Hi Jimmy,
The transitions are you using, are the FC standard transitions?
I had this green line when using a Freeware filter some time ago.
I think that that filter couldn't support 10b.

Mac OX 10.5.2-FC 6.02-QT 7.4.1
G5 2x2Gh 4GbRAM-BlackMagic Extreme
PMBP 17"Core2Duo 4GbRAM-AJA ioHD
JVC DTV-17"
SONY EX-1 . SONY PD170
..and always a big mess on top of the table.

Yes, all of the effects were standard FCP dissolves and transitions. It seems to be just this particular project that is causing it. As an FCP user I have become used to strange things happening for no apparent reason.
