HDV multiclip editing
by brian pitt (Brian Pitt) on May 20, 2008 at 5:50:13 pm

I had a shoot yesterday that was shot with 2 Sony HDV cameras. The camera's time code was synced up because I had planned on doing multiclip editing.

I created a multi-clip sequence using my two clips, but It will not play back in real time without a render!

Can you not do multiclip editing with HDV footage? can anyone help me out here?

Brian

I have personally edited quite a few HDV clips with very little problem. I did have this same exact scenario last week, but it was with a different format. The problem, as it turned out, was the sequence frame rate was different from the footage frame rate. Maybe give that a quick check?
Hope this helps

I'm almost done with my first multiclip job, a four camera edit, but I converted the HDV to ProRes on capture. I was pleasantly surprised that every worked as advertised.

Tim,

That was what exactly the problem. I switched the sequence settings to 1080i60 and it worked perfectly. Thanks!!!
