	changing academic versions by kevin anderson on May 11, 2008 at 3:57:39 am I have final cut academic version 5.1 I know I cannot upgrade to FCP 6. I went and got FCP 6 academic version. Do I need to fully uninstall 5.1 before I install 6? and if so, how can I save my projects? Thanks Respond to this post Return to posts index


	Re: changing academic versions by Shane Ross on May 11, 2008 at 6:01:55 am NO need to uninstall...you can install the upgrade on top of the current version. It isn't the best solution, and might be more prone to errors than if you wiped your system drive and installed everything from scratch. Back up all your files if you do go thru this process.
