Well, it is now official...
David Roth Weiss, who has been a great part of the COW since we first went online way back in late March 2001, is the newest host leader here in the COW's FCP forum.
Please welcome David as the newest part of such an august and respected team of hardcore Final Cut pros. (He, he -- I couldn't pass that one up. Get it? Final Cut pros???) Keep your day job, Lindeboom!

I believe this promotion creates an opening for "most helpful forum participant who's not a leader."
I hope entering the inner sanctum (learning the secret handshake, etc.) is not too scary. Just don't participate in any initiation that involves a blindfold.

I'm starting to think that my days here are numbered with how many other great contributers there are in the forum. No matter how much you know, there is always someone who knows more. That's what brings me to the cow, to meet all of those people!

Yes, they have been known to work their magic a time or two.
But to be honest, Wally, what really won over David was sharing a big bowl of kibble and beer with him. The kibble filled his stomach and made him sleepy and lazy -- while I shoved the pen into his hand and the contract under his nose -- and the beer made him pliant. The rest was almost as easy as Terry Garr.
In the end, David is now mine for life. Oh, and I got his sunglasses, too. You gotta love that!

I liked that story Rennie, it gives me hope. You see Ron told me I could expect a harem of fertile young heifers to slosh around with on my water bed, but so far I haven't seen even one small set of udders. Its slavery I tell ya...

I've drunk outta toilets with David Lee Roth and I have to say that David Roth Weiss is such a gentleman that he'd lift the toilet seat for David Lee Roth so he wouldn't bang his head on the rim. Now *that's* class.

Yes, we're coming to shoot the movie in Vienteinne if you can round up the money for us. Its all about a bunch of video geeks involved in a caper to highjack a helicoper that's being rented for a photo shoot by a world-renowned Laotian filmmaker. But, the whole plan goes arwy when the filmmaker forgets his polorizer at the home of his beautiful model/girlfriend. Are you onboard with us?

What can I add to all those encomia? DRW is funny, but he is even nicer than he is humorous. He's knowledgeable, and also eager to learn more. A great addition to a terrific line-up. Ron knows his livestock.
David, a public thank you, for kicking my b--- to learn FCP, and then for showing me around the pasture, and setting me on the right path, I don't know how many times.
As anyone who's read his posts will know, David has many outside "pursuits:" starlets, diving, New Orleans jazz, a recent hint of something in his youth (I'm SURE that's behind him), political rabble-rousing, even the sin of golf.
