Sequence Settings for DV footage with Motion content

Hello,
I am trying to find out what would be best for is for my situation. I am shooting DV and adding bottom third and full screen graphics that I created in Motion 2 and import as a template into Final Cut 6.
My final output is DVD, but when I output DV/DVCPro NTSC to a QT movie or through compressor to mpeg2, the motion content looks like junk! I tried to output using the animation codec, which makes my motion files look great, but it takes forever! I know that my footage, sequence settings and output settings should match, but I'm not sure what the best course of action is for mixing DV footage with Motion content. Any help would be appreciated!

There is no substitute for time in motion graphics or encoding qyuality.
If you render out of Motion and drop the Animation files into FCP, they will render to the DV sequence format.
Export the entire sequence as a self-contained DV movie.
Drop the newly exported movie into Compressor.
I can't tell from your post but you are probably letting Compressor re-render the .motn files, as it is supposed to do. This usually results in superior results but, assuming your "junk: assessment is objectively accurate and not the result of improper playback, this normal workflow isn't working. So bypass Compressor's usual route and give it a complete movie to process.
I gotta tell you though, claims that Motion content looks like "junk" are almost always inaccurate evaluations or simple user errors.

Sorry for using subjective terms like "junk". Exporting the whole timeline to a self-contained movie using the Animation codec gives much better quality than with DV. The video obviously looks the same.
I tried setting the sequence settings to Animation and instantly the motion content becomes crisp and clear. When it is set to DV, the motion content is blurred and pixelated. I have been exporting to self-contained movie and then using compressor, but I'm wondering if this is the fastest way to get the best results. Or is there another codec or method I could use that wouldn't have to re-render the entire timeline, but still give great results with the motion content specifically?
