Time code error
by dave Mckeown on Feb 8, 2008 at 4:18:04 pm

Hi guys:
i am using a dv camera and trying to import it into FinalCut HD. however it seems to stop and tells me there is a timecode error. this sounds a bit of a basic question or problem to solve. anyone any idea.

thanks

If it's just this tape, there likely is an error on the tape or a recording which isn't hot enough to read the code. You could just use "capture now" and a device control setting of "non controllable device" to get past this portion of the capture. Or dub the tape to re record the TC track... if you do this via firewire to firewire you'll not lose anything quality wise.

If it's all tapes, then might clean the camera... got a tape for that?
