...not your typical AUDIO DRIFT with FCP6...

Hei Everyone...it has been awhile since I last posted; I could not remember the correct log-in for my last account, so I started this new one ;)
anyway...
The trouble is:
A system that has been working flawlessly has suddenly stopped playing certain project files in sync. One day the project file was fine, the next day it was out of sync. I haven't changed any settings or any of the hardware/software specs. Simply stopped working properly. Exported QT movies will play back in sync in QT, but not in FCP.
Please, keep in mind that this is not a basic settings issue, or audio compatibility issue or any of the obvious things, because I've been working successfully on this project for months and only yesterday did it stop playing in sync.
Specs for the system:
DUAL G5 2GHZ
3G of RAM
250G Internal HD for program and project files
2.5TB CALDIGIT 5-BAY (Disk Speed tests result: 40FPS of 8-BIT HD UNCOMPRESSED)
BlackMagic DECKLINK HD
BlackMagic HDLINK output to APPLE CINEMA DISPLAY
Final Cut Studio 2
Quicktime Pro 7.1.6
If anyone has any clues, please let me know. I can always just work without synced video and know that when I export it will be fine...but...that seems like a terrible way to work.
Thanks in advance.

Hei Matt...thanks for posting...yes, I tried that...I also reinstalled my BlackMagic drivers just to be sure...the strange thing is that it only happens with certain project files, not with others...must be some sort of corruption in the FCP file itself...

UPDATE:
After testing a little further, I've determined that everything appears to be in sync if I TURN OFF EXTERNAL FRAME VIEWING.
The main problem here is that I'm not really going to be able to see my color-timing choices properly, and I'm also going to be very uncertain as to the quality of any PRINTING TO VIDEO that I may need to do.
I suppose this makes it more of a BLACKMAGIC problem than an FCP. Any suggestions for the Decklink users out there?
