Hi there - this solution is certainly an option, and it is one I have tried too. There is however something I would try before going to all the trouble of stripping out components and reinstalling.

Go to the 'compressor' menu and 'reset background processing' then quit compressor, restart and create a new batch. This works for me 9 times out of 10.
