Need update to Final Cut 5.1.4

Does anyone have the Final Cut 5.1.4 update? This is a free update, but is missing on Apple's site. One of my workstations still needs this update or else it can't open any projects created on the other workstations.
Alot of people are having this same problem. I have no idea why Apple removed it and left all of the really old updates on there but it is really screwing my life up.
Please help!

I would do that, but it does not come up as a software update anymore. That's how I updated my other workstations. I do have 5.1 installed on this last workstation, but 5.1.4 does not show up when you run software update. I have read alot of threads from other people who are having this same exact problem.
I have contacted Apple by leaving feedback, but I don't expect to hear anything from them.
I'd be willing to pay for this update, that's how important this is to me so that I can work on these projects.
Does anyone have a standalone installer for this?

I also had this problem. One computer had 5.1.4 and the other had 5.0. I just copied the final cut pro app to an external harddrive then replaced the old version with it. Worked like a charm.

Also need this updater, I did a system re-install and realized I don't have this updater anymore... can't open any of my edits. Have no idea why Apple removed it from their site. Does anyone have it on a server, or can drop it on mine. Please help.

Hi, I have also been desperately searching high and low for this update as a standalone DMG, it used to be on Apple's site but as others have mentioned it has since vanished. I need it to update a machine which does not have internet access, and it is becoming extremely urgent!
Alexander or anyone else who has it, if you could contact me by email on davebowman AT chymical DOT net I can let you know how to upload it to me, and will then happily provide the link for others stuck in the same boat as us...

Hi, Alexander are you still there? I've sorted the problem with my email, turns out a spammer had been spoofing the domain so the provider had blocked it, all fixed now though.
It would be fantastic if you could get in touch - davebowman(AT)chymical(DOT)net - so I can give you the login for my server to upload the DMG; you would really be "saving my life".
If we can get this sorted then I will happily give out the link to anyone else who's been searching as fruitlessly as I have. After all, there's nothing dodgy about it, it's only an update, and I think it's a mistake that it was removed from Apple's own site (being as the older ones are still there!)

I just bought Magic Bullet Looks and come to find out that it only works with FCP 5.1.4 and above! I have 5.0 which means the $400 I spent on the plug-in could be a waste. Can you help me Alexander? Anyone? Thank you so much!

Hi all,
FCP5.1 is FCStudio1, which in itself is not an UPDATE but is/was an UPGRADE which you had to purchase.
Then there were updates to all 5.1 programs which will show on software update on your Mac if you have FCP 5.1 installed,

Hi all, A mate who had the same problem upgraded Quicktime, and this allowed him to upgrade FCP through software update on his computer. Worth trying... Warwick

I see I'm a little late to the party. Is anyone out there still feeling generous enough to help out a fellow problemite stuck in the land of 5.1.0 because of an upgrade to his hardware? I don't have a url, but I have an iDisk account and you could dump it to the public folder.

Yes, I do have a legitimate license for 5.1. I upgraded when Apple was offering a Studio upgrade for $199 if you sent them your old FCP discs. The update to 5.1.4 no longer shows up through Software Update, however. I called Apple, and the guy I talked to said they had pulled the update because they were wanting people to upgrade to Studio 2. He actually suggested I try looking on forums for someone who had a copy of the 5.1.4 update.

Hi Alexander, sounds like you are the person to ask. I need a copy of the 5.1.4 update also. Can you please email me at [office AT exertus DOT co DOT nz] when you get a moment and I will send you the server details to upload to. I guess the other way of doing this would be to find someone willing to put it up on a server for a while for people to download it there are no legality issues in doing so...

Unfortunately I followed someone's advice here and put my 5.1.4 on a separate harddrive, then loaded that onto the second computer. It seemed to upgrade just fine, and I can see the application - but it just doesn't open. ???? yikes.

In a search for 5.1.4 upgrades, I came across your post mentioning that you could upload the file for Ryan. Is this still possible? Would you upload it somewhere for me? I could set you up with access to my FTP server. It looks like the upgrade has been pulled from all sites on the web. I just updated my desktop to 5.1.4 a few weeks ago. Now I need to update my PowerBook Pro laptop, and can't find the file. Thank you!
