HD clip to SD- Help Please!
by Randi43082 on Nov 26, 2007 at 9:53:02 pm

i have a clip that was shot in a vericam at 60fps that was downconverted to a digibetacam tape at 30fps, and digitized as such into an SD project; is there a way in FCP to play this clip back as it was originally intended? Thanks!

It is playing back as originally intended.

720/60 or 1080i/60 equals SD 29.97.

I answered this.

You have HD footage, 1280x720 (960x720 actuall) running at 60fps...that you have downconverted to 720x486 and 30fps. No...there is no way for it to play back at full HD resolution and frame rate. If you want it to be as it was originally intended, get the DVCPRO HD tapes and an AJ-HD1400 deck and capture the footage via firewire.
