HELP!!! Opening old project problems

I have a :30 second ad spot that's filled with live type words and fonts. It's a very nice looking spot. I need to make a phone number change on the spot. I originally edited it in FCP 5.1.4, now I have FCP studio 2. I opened the project, and converted it to the new version of FCP
For some reason all of the fonts on every screen are now flickering wildly. It flickers in both the canvas window and on my sony monitor. Everything is rendered, and I don't know what this is happening. The fonts looked wonderful for all of the versions I edited over the past year. Any thoughts of what might be happening and how to fix it? I've tried opening a new sequence and the problem still exists. If I create a new text in FCP...it looks fine.
Thanks

when you open a previous project there is an option for scaling faster or better. was there some motion you had added to the livetype files in FCP and mybe you accidentally clicked the faster check box when you opened it.

Not that I recall. I just clicked yes on the typical question FCP asks when you open an older project in FCP Studio2. The strange thing is if I re-import any of the livetype files to the project and render them they look fine. But if I unrender and re-render the titles in my project they still flicker.
Short of re-importing all of the titles and copying and pasting attributes...is there a easy fix?

If re-importing them makes them look fine, how about open in editor feature to open them in livetype and then save in livetype and go back over to FCP. What does that render like?
