Hi,
I have an issue that according to apple requires an archive install without preserving. Will that mess with FCP? Cause I have heard that it shouldn't be done.
thanks

It won't mess with FCP except that you'll lose anything you've saved in the user preferences... not really a big deal.
If you're going that far, I'd just do a totally clean install... erase and install... backup all documents, fonts, and mail you want to keep of course first because this will erase you're hard drive. Will of course also mean you have to reinstall all applications... But a clean install of your apps over a clean install of the OS is the best way to rebuild your system.
The archive and install will leave your old system on your hard drive... in a folder on the top of your startup disk. If you don't preserve things, It's just one step away from a totally clean installation anyway.
