DivX Codec Issue

Heres a question,

I have just downloaded and installed the DivX plugin software for Quicktime to view and edit a .avi file with the DivX codec, I can view each frame of the .avi files but when I go to play the clips FCP will force quit.

Any thoughts?

The video is encoded as DivX 4.1.2
The audio is encoded as DVI ADPCM

I think the version that works with FC is the "Pro". You must pay 19 US$.
