Final Cut - Media 100
by Jim@ABC32 on Aug 13, 2007 at 7:23:13 pm

We are changing to Final Cut Studio and getting a new MacPro in the process. We have Media 100i on a G5 and plan to put Final Cut program on it as well. Can I use Media !00 (to avoid buying another breakout box) to import video then use that video in Final Cut? This may be twisted and I have to do what management wants.

Thanks.

You can download the Media100 codec and use this BUT I would suggest that you plan carefully and convert to something more friendly as time permits.

Media100 and FCP don't get along real well. But it can work.

SInce media100 and FCP use the same hardware now (aja) it's best if you can create two boot drives, one FCP related, one media100 related. That way you can restart the computer and load the appropriate boot drive with appropriate drivers.
