reading timecode in fcp
by jack.maatman on Aug 3, 2007 at 7:05:03 pm

We're rendering 3d footage with timecode written in the file. Quicktime sees the timecode fine, but when I import the footage into FCP, it starts all the TC at 00:00:00:00. thoughts?

thanks,
jack.

I think we figured it out. (we're using 5.0.4). It seems like FCP looks for TC at the head of the file, if it sees it then it uses it, if not, not. We were doing slates at the head of each file with null timecode, and that threw it off the scent so to say. Is that an accurate description of what FCP does when it imports a file with TC?
