Adding movement to photos

I have a Final Cut Express and I've studied the manual on how to use keyframes to add movement to photos. But I am having so much trouble -- literally, I've been tackling this for several hours now -- that I thought I'd ask for some advice. Is there an easy way to add movement to photos, in particular adding "ease in/ease out" motion to the beginning and end of the move?
Please, any help or guidance is greatly appreciated.

FCE has keyframes now? If they work the same as FCP, you do the ease in with the control key and mouse in the canvas. But, be forewarned, keyframing in FC anything is really awful.
If you just need to animate some stills, take a look at Fotomagico from Boinx. You can learn it in about a half hour, it is really fast and fun.

FInal CUt is not real great at easing. It can do it if you have image+wireframe selected in your canvas and then you control-click on the stop point and choose ease, but your results may vary and it is not very easily manipulated or implemented in FInal Cut.

This is a nice, cheap and easy app that does all that work for you, has plenty of customization options but honestly I don't use them. I just import my audio for synch, tweak durations and let 'er rip.
This has saved me more time than I could possibly measure.
