Upgrading from Cinewave
by cinesequence on Jul 5, 2007 at 8:46:03 pm

Hello All

Well I'm finally ready to retire my Cinewave SD system (Dual 2 GHz PowerPC G5) and move up to a Kona LHe on a Mac Pro Eight Core Xeon 3GHz. Having no projects in the works, what steps would you take to retire the Cinewave - still would like to have access to old files.

Thanks

i have an even older cinewave system (dual 500 G4) working fine but must transition into the present. also wonder about how to access 'old files' after i make the move. is there a codec available that will work??

The AJA Kona 2Vuy codec will read CineWave files just fine. So if you want to save off your files in their native CineWave codecs you can. Or you can simply convert all your files over to Uncompressed 4:2:2 using Quicktime Pro.
