Benefits of the 8 core

Hi all!

Has anyone got a 8 core system? I am looking into doing some serious upgrades and need to know if there are any huge differences between the 4 and 8 core mac pros.

I was going to buy a 8 core until I read an article on barefeats.com that implies that because of limited bandwidht to the memory bus there isn't going to be a huge boost in rendertimes.
