OT-Any new Mac viruses out there?

Our IT guy asked me today if I had about any new Mac viruses lately. I told him that I haven't heard of anything new offhand. He replied that he had "heard" that there we a lot of them popping lately and was concerned about not having virus protection on the Macs. Bad,bad, bad! We must have it! Bad Mac-boy!
Anyhow, he doesn't recall just where he'd "heard" this, but it must be true afterall?
Anyone have any news on the subject?
Just wondering if it may be possible or whether it's just more PC Paranoia in action.

Nope, nothing new.
And anything out there that's "old" are thing that you'd have to download and run. Nothing that could catch you by surprise, in other words.
Here's 4 steps to take:
1) Download wisely. Don't run mystery programs from untrusted sites.
2) Turn on your Firewall in System Preferences
3) Find the advanced section of the firewall that enables "Stealth Mode" and turn it on
4) Go into Safari preferences and turn OFF the feature that runs downloaded programs automatically
That's pretty much it. You should be perfecly fine if you follow those 4 rules.

Always pays to be careful, but as I understand it there are some proof of concept viruses that have been patched, but none actually out there in the wild.
